Trump and Clinton Left Standing
What began over a year ago as a one horse presidential race, finally came to an end this week when Hillary Clinton secured the Democratic presidential nomination over Bernie Sanders. Although the Clinton campaign is reluctant to reach the delegate count needed to secure the nomination, the long drawn out political battle against Sanders cost Clinton more time, money, and resources than originally planned. Unfortunately for Clinton, there will be no resting since Republican nominee Donald Trump secured his party’s bid weeks ago and has a head start on his full scale political attack against the Democrats.
This election season has seen more headlines, and in turn more voters, than any other presidential race in recent times. With a once immensely qualified field narrowed down to two candidates, the American people await the first opportunity to hear Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton’s opposing views face to face. Trump, a billionaire real estate mogul, and Clinton, the first female presidential nominee of a major political party, are both historic candidates with a massive loyal following that will surely drive ratings up through all forms of news media. Having such popularity with the mainstream will make this one of the most dynamic political races in history and bring thousands of first time voters out of the shadows and up for grabs.
Business marketing and political campaigns call upon the same principles to fuel their success. With two opposing candidates having distinct and developed brands, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton finally have the opportunity to persuade political party outsiders that their “brand” is what is best for the country.
