J.J. Watt Reveals Personal Logo
When an athlete has their own personal logo, you know their brand must be quite substantial. Athletes such as Michael Jordan, Ken Griffey Jr., and LeBron James might be a few who come to mind when talking about personal logos, but on Sunday a new name joined the group. National Football League (NFL) star defensive end, J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans revealed his logo last Sunday, which will be used in Watt’s Reebok campaign as well as for his own personal brand activation.
The logo itself is a brilliant take on everything that is J.J. Watt. The “double J’s”, turned facing away from each other resemble the letter “W”, but if turned upside down also represent Watt’s jersey number, 99.
Since signing Watt to Reebok, the company has not released much information surrounding the use of the logo beyond some limited edition apparel, but talks of a signature training shoe have supposedly been discussed. Although this is a personal brand, Watt will not be able to bare the logo on the field during games as the NFL is partners with Nike, a major competitor of Reebok.
