All Eyes on UFC 200
ESPN’s newest 30 for 30 documentary film, Believeland sheds light on the city of Clevelands’ inability to win a championship. Ironically, the films debut on Saturday night was accompanied by Cleveland native, Stipe Miocic knocking out Fabricio Werdum at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 198 for the world Heavyweight title. Miocic ended his ringside victory speech by exclaiming, “Cleveland we got a championship baby!”
Although Miocic’s UFC Heavyweight belt means a lot for the city of Cleveland, the title means even more for Miocic’s career trajectory and brand worth. Miocic stole the Brazilian Werdum’s title in his home country in front of 45 thousand fans. The knockout defeat was Werdum’s first loss since reentering the UFC in 2012. Still in the beginning of his career, Miocic now holds a 9-2 record and the opportunity to continue developing as he attempts to defend his title in the future.
As UFC fans shift from the 198 card to approaching 200, all eyes will be on Activ8’s own Travis Browne as he goes to war with Cain Velasquez, previous Heavyweight title holder. The winner of this fight will likely take on Miocic for the heavyweight championship belt. Since stakes are even higher for Browne vs Velasquez, Activ8 Media’s weekly interviews with Browne will be even more insightful on what to expect heading into UFC 200. The sessions between co-host John Fosco and Travis “Hapa” Browne are called, “Happa Time” and can be found at Activ8 Media’s YouTube channel. These interviews dissect Browne’s life, mindset, and training as he prepares for the Velasquez fight, and now, a possible title shot. These personal interviews have shown a calm and confident Browne and have allowed fans to get a more intimate look into Travis’ life.
