College sports teams all across the country are competing for big time sponsorships from top brands. University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) is sure to make headlines as they just landed a massive shoe and apparel deal with the one and only, Under Armour. The 280 million dollar contract is set for 15 years and was announced during a news conference early Tuesday afternoon. Schools like Michigan State University and Ohio State have both signed remarkable deals with Nike. So now, Under Armour is fighting to get into the marketplace. This was also the perfect time for Under Armour as UCLA’s contract with Adidas just ended. Dan Guerrero, UCLA Athletic Director, stated, “Under Armour came at us hard”. So they knew it was the right time for the massive offer.
