#TrumpTime, GOP Debate & the Activ8Radio Podcast
It was expected to dominate the news, but the GOP Debate and, more specifically Donald Trump, continue to boast impressive numbers, at least when it comes to trending topics on social and digital media.
The social media numbers reached an incredible level less than 24 hours after the Republican Debate on Thursday in Houston. In fact, in less than 12 hours, both GOP Debate and Donald Trump were the top trending items. But the sheer numbers in a short amount of time were staggering, as nearly 2 million tweets included “Trump,” while the #GOPDebate was at nearly 1.5 million tweets by early Friday morning.
Those numbers don’t include the incredible interest on both Facebook and Instagram as well, and it’s clear who is driving the bulk of that traffic. It again goes back to Trump, who has become the face of this election season, no matter what side of the argument you fall on.
His presence on social media and any digital media platform has been stunning, and Trump continues to push the envelope, both in appearance and in his message, which has included a bevy of one-liners that continue to draw headlines.
Marco Rubio went hard on the offensive towards Trump on Thursday, but will it be enough to overtake Trump just days before 12 states choose a GOP nominee on Super Tuesday?
If nothing else, Trump has mastered the social media and digital game, something Activ8Media co-founders John Fosco and Cory Gregory touched on during the latest Activ8Radio podcast.
In fact, the Trump Minute is now #TrumpTime on the podcast, a nod to just how much Trump has dominated the news cycle, even on social media where trends come and go repeatedly.
You can check out what John and Cory had to say about Trump and the GOP debate below, starting at 0:49 and running through the 7:09 mark.
