As Los Angeles, California anticipates the return of a National Football League (NFL) team to their city, the hype around the team’s new stadium is becoming bigger than ever. When the Rams football organization relocates to Los Angeles, they will be playing in the state of the art, 2.6 billion dollar, Inglewood Stadium. To no one’s surprise, the NFL announced that in 2021 Inglewood stadium would host the Super Bowl, making it the first Super Bowl in LA since the inaugural championship game in 1967. Along with Super Bowl LV in 2021, Inglewood has also bid on the 2022 Final Four, the 2023 college football championships, and will be included in Team USA’s bid for the World Cup. Equipped with a translucent roof, Inglewood is capable of hosting any major event and when the stadium opens for business in 2019 it will be North America’s premiere sports stadium.

Inglewood stadium will not only be a flagship for the Rams organization, but the state-of-the-art complex will usher in a rebirth for Los Angeles. An NFL organization back in LA will bring a new sense of pride and comradery to the city. With weekly football games every fall, additional tourist will visit LA for this added of entertainment, certainly boosting the LA economy. Along with an NFL franchise, Inglewood stadium will also make Los Angeles more appealing when the city submits its bid for the 2024 Olympic Games. In order to make a strong pitch to the Olympic Committee, a city must build a culture around its brand and show it is capable of hosting the entire world of sports. Having the most prestigious stadium in North America as a focal point will certainty make a good case for LA as the host city.

On many occasions, Activ8 Media’s John Fosco and Cory Gregory have talked about the impact of a company having a commercial screened during the Super Bowl on the Activ8 Radio Podcast. This shows the magnitude of impact that the NFL can have on not only a business, but in the case of Los Angles and Inglewood stadium, the impact it can deliver for an entire city with the NFL as the largest media driven sport in the United States.
