The Activ8 Take: EA Sports UFC 2

The new UFC video game, EA Sports UFC 2, was released today and by almost every account, it’s a knockout.

It is considered a big upgrade over the first UFC release from EA Sports a little less than two years ago, and Activ8Media Co-Founder and managing partner John Fosco discussed some of the upgrades on the latest episode of “The Activ8 Take.”

“It is, bar none, the most realistic combat sports game (and) I’ll go on a limb and I’ll say fighting game, and that would include boxing games, ever,” Fosco said on the show, which can be streamed below. “The amount of transitions, ground positions, grappling and the way the striking flows is so severely improved. More importantly, it’s so realistic.”

UFC superstars Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor appear on the cover, and a massive amount of UFC standouts are included in the game. The improved gameplay and abundance of new features makes for a much more lifelike fight, according to Fosco, and that increased realism adds to the enjoyment factor for all players. The game also includes unlockable characters like Mike Tyson and Bruce Lee, providing yet another entertainment factor for fight fans.

The new game has been featured all over recent UFC broadcasts and social media, and it has trended well today on Tuesday on Google and social media platforms as well. The launch release has been successful and the actual game earns high marks from Fosco.

“Overall, 'The Activ8 Take' on UFC 2 is thumbs way up,” Fosco said.
