Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Early Thursday morning, the highly anticipated teaser for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first ever Star Wars spinoff film, was released. From what we have been told, the movie is about a group of motley crew Rebels that are on a mission to steal the blueprints of the Empire’s first Death Star (an ultimate weapon) for the Rebel Alliance. The setting is to take place a few years prior to the first ever Star Wars film, A New Hope (1977), and is going to help fill a void in the timeline after Revenge of the Sith (2005). Gareth Edwards, director of the film, has reportedly taken inspiration from war films such, as Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down, and was quoted saying, “it’s called Star… ‘Wars’”. Ever since Disney bought LucasFilm, acquiring the Star Wars title along with it in 2012, they have been strategically branding Star Wars.
