Kings Unveil New Branding

Earlier this week, the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Sacramento Kings rolled out several new brand identities in hopes of transforming the city. The new logos are accompanied by a stunning new arena, the Golden 1 Center, which is set to open in downtown Sacramento in October of this year and to be the new home of the Kings. The new branding however is much more than just a fancy showpiece. “This brand kicks off a new era for our franchise as we move into the most technologically-advanced, most environmentally-friendly arena in the world. As Sacramento becomes the next great American city, this identity honors our heritage while moving us forward,” stated Owner and Chairman of the Kings, Vivek Ranadive.

Each of the new logos has its own purpose and meaning behind it, but the main emblem displaying the team’s full name will be the new primary logo. The new crown logo reflects the rich history in the city of Sacramento, and stands as a reminder to all in the community that “We are Kings”.
